13 Week Day Camp
Welcome to Clubhouse “26”! We can’t wait for you to spend your school holidays with us! Here is some information to help families during your time with us!
Kinder camp will operate weekly during:
1. July 1st to August 31st – 9 weeks of summer break
2. March Break 1 week
3. Christmas Break- 1 week (traditionally beginning of January)
4. PD days (varies through the year by school board)
The Camp will be closed for all Statutory Holidays, and rates will reflect the shorter week. Kinder camp has a capacity for 26 children per week.
Kinder Camp is for Children in Junior & Senior Kindergarten who are under the age of 6.
Kinder camp is an extension of The Children’s Place. It is an unlicensed program that is not part of the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Program. Our camp follows the legislative requirements in the Childcare and Early Years Act (CCEYA). Staff conduct training and qualifications consistent with all employees at The Children’s Place and are required to have the following:
• A clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Standard First Aid & Cpr training
• Anaphylaxis training
• Up to date immunizations
• Experience in the field of Early Childhood Education
Administration Information:
Camp Fees
• Camp is $175.00 per week
• Weeks with a Statutory holiday is $140.00 per week
• PD days are $35.00 per day
Camp is booked on a first come basis, families will be required to book their weeks and make payment in full to reserve their spot at camp.
Camp Program Information:
Camp Calendars
Prior to the start of summer and march break camps, families will be given a calendar highlighting special activities and events happening throughout each camp week. Signed permission to participate in these activities are a requirement of the camp for all children attending.
A Day at Camp
Camp is filled with many fun activities. The Children will have opportunities to engage in creative art, physical activity, dramatic play and much more! We focus on children’s interests and providing the materials for them to engage in meaningful play. We have a focus on outdoor play, with water activities, picnics, and outdoor fun.
Outdoor play is important for all children’s overall physical and healthy well-being. We maximize our outdoor time outdoor time through weather appropriate activities. We will follow Ottawa Public Health’s Guidelines and monitor recommendations during extreme weather events.
Camper Conduct & Behavior Management
Our goal is to provide a fun and safe space for children to build positive relationships with their peers, make new friends and have fun! To help ensure your child and all children attending camp have a safe, and enjoyable experience please go through with your child our expectations for them prior to the start of camp.
The goal of our camps is to ensure that all campers have a rewarding, memorable, fun, and safe experience. Please review the following camp expectations with your child(ren):
• Be respectful to peers and staff
• Listen to staff
• Ask permission (e.g. bathroom)
• Stay with the group
• Use your words, not your hands
• Understand Conflict Vs. Bullying
